Separè Tableware
Separè is a tableware set designed with the neurodivergent experience in mind. The plate features distinct compartments that allow for the separation of foods, addressing sensory processing sensitivities related to texture, flavor, smell, and visual presentation. Inspired by both Korean and Italian design cultures, its form references the geometry and layering of Bojagi, the traditional Korean wrapping cloth, while its stackable, multilayered, and colorful elements reflect the bold, experimental spirit of Italian designers of the 1970s. Separè aims to make mealtime more comfortable, engaging, and inclusive for a wider range of users.
The project was commissioned by the intercultural exchange cultural programme between Italy and South Korea, where I was selected along with eleven other designers, who all interpreted the culture of eating in objects for the table. These objects were exhibited in two locations, Milan and Seoul.
